Located in the province of Limburg, north-east of Belgium, this Flemish farmhouse of brick and wood nestles happily in its surrounding fields. Gently restored, its traditional architecture has been retained as much as possible — the original brick walls add texture to the inside spaces, while furniture in soft neutrals keep the mood quiet and serene. The atmosphere of contentment extends outside, too, with donkeys and sheep grazing peacefully as chickens roam freely around them.

What is now a stunning beach house in Amagansett, New York for Athena and Victor Calderone is a testament to their ability to see potential — Victor describes black mold hanging from a collapsing ceiling, and a pool filled with mosquitoes (and worse) when they first found it. But they loved the elegant lines of the 1960s house and were determined to restore it to its former glory. Now they enjoy weekends away from their hectic lives with their young son Jivan.

I am a big fan of Kelly Wearstler, as an interior designer I find her so much fun and totally daring. I love the fact she takes risks, follows no rules and basically has a fab time doing what she loves. With Kelly it is always a case of mixing up colours and patterns that normally you wouldn't even think twice of placing them together but with her they just seem to work. With a great eye for detail and colour, I'm in awe of her bold approach and dynamic style. Here are some images from her latest project, a gorgeous 11,000 square foot house on Mercer Island, Washington. Luxurious is definitely one word to describe it.
